John is one of Australia's most respected photographers, specialising in capturing the built environment, including ancient and modern cities around the world. Rob is a leading Australian architect and founded the award-winning practice McBride Charles Ryan with Debbie Lyn Ryan in 1992.
John will discuss his many projects, including his collaborations with McBride Charles Ryan (MCR), explain some of the technical aspects of photographing buildings and look at the distinction between photography and art.
Rob will describe the role of architectural photography in his designs and how he has drawn on John’s expertise, over many years, to enhance the key elements of his projects.
