“There are known knowns, things that we know that we know; and there are unknown knows, things that we know we don’t know. But there are also unknown unknowns, things we do not know we don’t know” … Donald Rumsfeld”

Rumsfeld’s famous quote could aptly apply to interpreting Australia’s Building Code Regulations – We understand parts of it, we know there are other things we should know, but the real worry is in the things we don’t know we don’t know.

When interpreting the building code architects and engineers are caught at the confluence of design intention, compliance, and site realities and are often faced with a degree of uncertainty on which to proceed.

This is exacerbated by the increasing level of documentation and scrutiny designs and projects are being subjected to by the relevant authorities.

Drawing on real project scenarios, our panel (includes 2 architects) will bring a practical perspective to this webinar — highlighting the challenges designers face when interpreting and applying the Building Code of Australia throughout documentation and delivery.

Learn about real live compliance issues, new legislation and the particular pain points in interpreting and working with the regulations.

We hope you can join us to share your experiences with our panel below –
